This stunning Gold Wedge Tailed Eagle was struck by the esteemed Perth Mint in Australia out of 1/10 oz. The smallest size in the series, these small gold coins are small but beautiful depictions of master artist John Mercanti’s skill. The Perth Mint has declared that these coins have a limited mintage of only 10,000 coins. What design is present on this 1/10 oz. Gold Wedge Tailed Eagle? The obverse of this small gold coin depicts Queen Elizabeth II. This effigy was created by Ian Rank-Broadley over a century ago, and has taken a firm seat on most recent commonwealth coinage. The reverse of the design was created by John Mercanti, designer of the American Silver Eagle’s reverse and 12th U. It depicts the second design used in the Australian Wedge Tailed Eagle series, which is the eagle perched at the peak of a barbed wire fence post. Graded Mint State 70 with a Mercanti signed label. This perfect coin was graded such at the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). Their experts carefully examined the coin for flaws, yet found none. This earned the coin the highest grade available – Mint State 70. To top of this exceptional grade, the special label used on this coin was hand signed by John Mercanti himself!
