The rays of the morning sun spread out behind her, combining with the small rendering of the Capitol Dome on the left to make the allegorical figure appear larger than life. Her name, “LIBERTY, ” is inscribed above her head, and the coin’s date, “2020, ” is included on the right. All of this is encircled by fifty stars, which represent the states. Four stars were added to the original stars to account for the most recent states to join the union. The reverse design celebrates the national bird. Created by Miley Busiek, it consists of two parts. The top part is a male eagle, which carries an olive branch back to his nest.
